Is The Thule Hullavator Compatible With 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Factory Roof Rack
Question:
I have a stock roof rack for my Toyota FJ Cruiser TRD. Is it possible to use the Hullavator on my vehicle. Would it be a standard fit or would I need to do modifications. Thanks

The Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist with Tie-Downs part # TH898 does require 4-8" of overhang on your crossbars to clear the side of the vehicle when the kayak carrier is the load assist position. So it would not be compatible with the factory Toyota FJ Cruiser factory roof rack according to my research.
If you wanted to add after-market bars to the FJ Cruiser's raised side rails to use the Hullavator I recommend 53" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars part # TH711400 Rapid Crossroad Feet for Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 this will give you the overhang that you need to use the Hullavator.
If you would rather not switch out the bars of your roof rack, I recommend the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist w/ Tie-Downs part # MPG114MD-351XL that includes J-style carriers and two load assist arms. The load assist arms allow you to walk the kayak up the side of the vehicle and up into the J-style carrier. I have attached a video of how easy it is.
