Height Of Timbren Springs and Vertical Wheel Travel Loss In 2019 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
I have a 2019 Tacoma Off-Road 4x4. How much space would be left between the Timbren product and the frame after install? Looking for how much up travel the wheel will loose when using this product. Also confirm which product I will need for my vehicle.

When installing any Timbren system on the 2019 Toyota Tacoma you should have about 1/2" to 1-1/2" between the frame and the spring after installation. You won't necessarily be losing wheel travel when you use a Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System on the Tacoma. I recommend either the # TTORTUN4 system if you have 4 leaf springs in the rear suspension or # TTORTUN4L if you have 3 leaf springs in the rear suspension.
When you switch out the factory bump stops for the Timbren springs you will be losing the difference between the height of the spring which is 3-3/4" and the height of the factory bump stop (which is usually much shorter) before you engage with the spring. If you measure the factory stop, the difference between that figure and the 3-3/4" spring is the clearance you are losing. It does mean that the truck will engage with the Timbren spring sooner then it did with the factory stops which is what it is designed for.
If you are planning on doing a lot of off roading, I recommend Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops - Rear Suspension part # TABSOSR which measure 5-1/2" long. These will engage even sooner because they are longer and are designed for bumpy off road situations.
