1-1/4 Hitch Mount Folding Platform Style Bike Rack with Smallest Distance From Bumper When Folded Up
Question:
Hi, I have a tight fit in my garage and I would like to leave my bike rack on my car. Whats the best hitch bike rack single with add-on option which folds to the smallest form factor? So from my back bumper out, which will add the least amount of inches when folded on the car but is still a good rack?? Thanks

When determining how far a rack is going to stick out on your vehicle, most racks are going to be measured from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest part of the rack; so the distance it's going to stick out depends on the receiver tube of your hitch and your vehicle's bumper.
With that being said, I recommend going with the Kuat Transfer 1 # KU64FR since it offers the most narrow profile behind your vehicle and has the ability to be added onto with a 2nd platform to carry another bike with part # KU57FR. The Kuat T1 is going to extend 16-3/4" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest point of the rack when folded up and will carry a bike weighing up to 60-lbs. This rack not only folds up, but it will tilt away from the back of your vehicle to allow you to get into the trunk or rear cargo area with your bikes loaded on the platform. Another great feature is the black powder coating to provide some added protection from the elements- which is helpful since you want to keep the rack on the vehicle. If you ever need to carry this rack on a different vehicle, the Kuat T1 has an included adapter to allow you to use it in a 2" hitch receiver as well.
