Brake Controller Shows Connected But No Power To Trailer Brakes with Pedal

If you have a proportional brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 then this is normal. The reason for this is because a proportional brake controller is not going to send very much power to the trailer brakes while at a dead stop because there is no inertia for the controller to sense. However, if you are getting no power at all at the trailer connector while using a multi-meter then there might be an issue with the stop light switch connection. This is a red wire that goes from the back of the brake controller to the cold side of the brake pedal.
If you get power with the manual override then that would confirm the above.
