Replacing 205/75-15 Trailer Tires with 225/75-15 Trailer Tires
Question:
Bought wheel and tire package all black with 205/75 15, 5 lug. Reading the wheels , it says 15x5j. Interested in changing just the tire for a 225/75 15. Need tires that would accommodate 3500 lbs total. Thanks for your help

Expert Reply:
The 225/75-15 tires you are wanting to install are only just slightly larger than the 205/75-15 tires you have now so they can be swapped out rather easily. They will work just fine with the wheels you have now as well so you shouldn't have any worries here. I recommend the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire part # AM10303.
The tires should be filled to 80 psi and will give you a total weight capacity of 5,660 lbs. They are rated for 81 mph.
