Helpful Expert Reply:
Correct, the tail lights on your 2004 Ford Escape are different than the 2003 and 2005 models. Although there is not a plug and play wiring harness for this oddball year, the Upgraded Circuit Protected Tail Light Converter Hardwire Kit part # 119178KIT will work for you and it also comes with everything that you need. This is your only option to add a trailer wiring harness to this model year as no one makes a plug and play kit since the change to the tail lights was only for one year.
