The Battery on the Hopkins Engager Breakaway Kit is not Charging When Used With a 2007 GMC Sierra
Question:
I purchased this breakaway kit a few months ago, and now that spring is around the corner Im getting it all set up. How long should it take to fully charge the battery? I left the trailer and truck connected for a full 24 hours. The charging light was on, but it still hasnt fully charged. If I disconnect the truck and press test the unit says recharge!

The Hopkins Engager Breakaway Kit, # 20099, takes about 20 minutes to recharge. Your 2007 GMC Sierra New Body must be running to charge the battery. The charging light on the breakaway kit will always stay on as long as the trailer is connected to the tow vehicle, but that does not mean the battery is charging.
If you let your vehicle run and the battery will not charge, then you can take the battery to a local automotive store and have them test the battery.
I have linked the installation instructions for you to check out.
