Does Wiring Harness on 2019 Mazda CX-5 Have to Get Power From 12V Battery
Question:
Is the module always powered up if you run a wire from the battery to the module? I have a 2019 Mazda CX-5, could I use the power outlet on the passenger rear to power up the module? That way there would not be any power to the module when the suv is not running. Thanks

The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56377 will always be connected to a battery so it will be "on" in the same way that everything else that is connected to the battery of your 2019 Mazda CX-5 is "on." That said, there are no negative effects, problems, or issues whatsoever with it being connected to your Mazda's battery.
The only problems that will arise are from attempting to power the connector from anything but a direct hot lead to the vehicle's battery. Using any other power source like the outlet you were referring to can lead to electrical issues such as shorts because these systems are not designed for the additional amperage from a wiring harness. It is important you only power the 4-way via a hot lead to your 12 volt battery to avoid any of these problems.
I have added a link to a help article on routing a power wire to your battery that you should find helpful, as well as a link to a video review of the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56377 for you to check out.
