Does the Curt Echo Get Power From the Center or One OClock Pin On the 7-Way
Question:
Hello - Im having Audi install a Class III Hitch on my 18 Q7 with a Pollak female end trailer plug. Into that will go the Curt Echo, then lastly the Airstream male plug into that. Airstream is telling me that the center pin of the 7-pin needs to be hot all the time in order to power the Curt. The Pollak diagram shows the center pin is for the backup lamps. Will the Curt Echo still work? Does it get its power from more than one pin? Thanks for the assist!!

The Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 receives power from the pin in the one o'clock position, not the center pin (see photo). The center pin for reverse lights and the one o'clock pin for the 12 volt power can be found wired either way but in order for the Curt Echo to work it needs to be the former way. If the trailer connector is already wired using the latter then you can switch the wires at the back of the connector pretty easily.
