Question:
how do you keep them from slipping? I have to get the rubber mallet out and bang the dickens out of them.

The Andersen Camper Wheel Chock # AM3604 that you mentioned typically does a really nice job of staying in place when driving onto them but depending on the type of ground surface you're dealing with they can still move around a bit. If you are having a lot of trouble with this something you can try is to simply add some grip tape like # A10-2210VP to the chock.
This will roughen up the smooth surface of the chock so that the trailer tire can get a better grip when rolling over it. This should hopefully keep the chock in place so you don't have to get out the rubber mallet.
