Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 174BH

Question:

I have a 2014 Jeep JKU on a 6 inch lift, and a 2019 Jayco Jay Flight 174BH @3250lbs dry and stocked. I dont plan on traveling wet It sits just about level and pulls really decent with no WD hitch, but, every now and then it starts to worm bob up and down slightly at the hitch. Its nothing extreme and only last a few seconds. And passing a semi head-on when the wind is just rite can cause a puckering moment because of the turbulence. Would a WD hitch with sway control help with this? And if so can u recommend one that i dont have to unhook to backup please.

Yes, a weight distribution system will help to reduce porpoising (bobbing up and down) as well as sway (if equipped with sway control) caused from the turbulence of passing semis. In regards to reversing, this is a very misunderstood subject about weight distribution systems as nearly all allow for you to reverse the trailer with the system still attached. The issue is when you try to reverse at a sharp angle which can then cause the spring bars to bind. If you do however need to reverse at a sharp angle then you just need to pop off the spring bars which will only take a few seconds and you don't need to uncouple the trailer to do so.

I recommend the Husky Center Line Weight Distribution part # HT32216 along with the Husky Weight Distribution Shank part # HT31518 so long as you don't need more than 5-3/4" of drop. This system has sway control and it can be used for reversing so long as you follow the above rule.
