Roof Cargo Basket and 2 Kayak Carrier to Fit 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon  

Question:

Going on trip, want to install roof basket for extra gear. Also want to haul 1 or 2 kayaks. Can this work and what should I use? I have 2017 Subaru Outback. A longer basket would be useful but not totally necessary. Any advice?

For a roof mounted kayak carrier great for carrying 1 or 2 kayaks we have the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 which is a J-style kayak that can be locked vertical to allow two to fit as well. Check out the attached review video for more info. When carrying the second kayak you'd need a second set of straps. So for that you'd want to use the part # Y04031 and you'd be set.

To fit a basket with the two kayaks you'd most likely need a skinnier basket like the Yakima SkinnyWarrior Roof Basket prat # Y07014 which is 23 inches wide and would fit the factory crossbars of your 2017 Subaru Outback Wagon.
