Recommended Platform Bike Rack to Use with Front Hitch on 2017 Ram 3500

Question:

Will this fit my 2017 Ram 3500 with front mount hitch Curt C31067? I want it to fold up when not in use. I have approximately 7 1/2 inches from center hole of hitch to front edge of bumper. Im open to any suggestions. Thanks.

I do have a great option for you, however the Thule rack that you referenced won't work with the Curt front mount hitch on your Ram 3500 if you want to be able to fold it up against the truck when not in use. When the Thule T2 is folded up there is only 4-1/2 inches of space from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the carrier, meaning it will knock against the front bumper of your Ram before it's able to get to its storage position.

As far as a platform carrier goes, the best option we have available in terms of bumper clearance is the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z.

When this rack is folded up there is a distance of 12-1/8" inches from the hitch pin hole to its closest part, giving you room to spare on your Ram. This rack folds in a unique way so, this might not work for you application. Check out the attached video.

This is a really nice carrier that features ratcheting hooks to secure the bikes by their frames, adjustable wheel cradles that accept a variety of bike sizes and makes for easier loading, and a durable steel construction that will hold up great over time. The carrier does come with a lock for both the bikes and the hitch.
