Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk For 16 ft Dauntless Boat Trailer
Question:
I just purchased a 2004 16’ Dauntless with a trailer originally for a Montauk 17’. It has 8’ float on bunks and in our shallow slip, did not allow the boat to float off well. I only Trailer the boat at the beginning and end of the season in the Northeast. I would like to bolt some rollers to the bunks but not sure I need 2 x 4’. Would 5’ rollers offset by a foot at the front work?

You could use the 5' Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk part # DL21741 and have an extra foot at the back of the trailer. Ideally you would want rollers anywhere the boat rests on bunks plus slight overhang so that the boat will contact them before it contacts the trailer when loading the boat.
