All Lights Activate When Running Lights Turned On Using Hopkins Harness On a 2013 Ford Fusion

have the HM11140444 I put in 13 ford fusion. Everything works fine until headlights are turned on, then power is given to all lights so it appears brakes are on. separately all work as they should.Ideas?

The issue you are describing with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness part # HM11140444 on your 2013 Ford Fusion sounds like a failed converter box. I recommend you test all of the wires leading into the converter box to make sure there is power on the correct ones when the corresponding signals are applied. If you then apply the running lights then you should only get power on the brown wire leaving the converter box. If you get power on any other wires but the brown running light wire then we know the converter box is bad and the trailer wiring harness will need to be replaced.
I also recommend that you reattach the ground wire to a more suitable location as well but this issue is not really a common cause of a weak ground.
