The most likely reason the install of an Invisi-Brake part # RM-8700 would interfere with the braking of a towed vehicle is an issue with the way the system integrates with the vacuum lines of the vehicle. It's possible the T-fitting adapter that ties into the main vacuum line for the power assist has disconnected. That would be the first place I would check. Is there a loud "air suction" sound that you can hear when the vehicle is running? That would be a dead giveaway for that.
It's probably best to go over all of the install of the kit that deals with the vacuum lines and make sure everything is installed right and valves aren't installed backwards.
