Does 2015 Ford F-150 Need to be Flashed At Dealer When Installing Brake Controller
Question:
I keep reading that you must take your truck to the dealer, or use an OBD II reader and flash the PCM using ForScan after installing a trailer brake controller on my 2015 f-150. I have an old brake controller and dont want to buy the OEM one. If I purchase the property wiring adapter, can I attach my old TBC to the factory wiring harness and have functioning trailer brakes? Or, will I still have to have the PCM flashed?

If your 2015 Ford F-150 didn't come equipped with a factory brake controller then you shouldn't need to have the computer flashed in order to install an aftermarket unit. If you have a Tekonsha or Draw-Tite controller the Plug-In Adapter # 22292 is exactly what you need to install it using the factory port behind the dash. If you have a different brand brake controller just let me know.
Once installed the controller should work without issue after the initial setup process.
