Does Trunk Bike Rack Need to Removed To Access Cargo Area of 2019 Volvo XC60
Question:
I read a review that said you had to loop the straps on the Yakima Y02635 through the back hatch on the XC60 - I guess you dont actually use the rubber/metal hooks that usually go over the door? The review said you would have to entirely remove the rack in order to open the hatch. Can you confirm?

Both things you mentioned are true. You do have to put the upper straps of the Yakima Fullback # Y02633 in anchor mode to attach to the rear door of your 2019 Volvo XC60 and you will have to remove the rack any time you need to access the rear cargo area which is standard with any trunk rack. It's too dangerous to have the weight of the rack on the rear door when you attempt to open it as it might slam shut, plus the hinges aren't rated for the extra weight either.
