Converting Trailer Light Bar from Incandescent to LED Lights
Question:
Would these be a direct replacement for SAE P2 91 DOT incandescent lights on a three light DOT ID bar?
asked by: Tim T
Helpful Expert Reply:
The code SAE P2 91 DOT on the light lens is the lens rating, not a part number, so it is difficult to go by that number. Often the actual part number for a light will be on the back of the light base or housing. If not, it is usually easiest to go by the dimensions of the light when choosing a replacement like the LED-type # AL191RB.
We do offer complete 3-light LED light bars, such as parts # MCL93RB and # MCL97RB, which appear on the linked page with other trailer clearance lights.
You can also convert your lights from incandescent to LED by simply replacing the standard bulbs with equivalent LED elements like those shown on the linked page. Click on the LED type and then on the bulb number of your existing incandescent bulb; you'll then see LEDs that will fit as direct replacements for your incandescent bulbs.
Always choose a bulb color that matches the color of the light lens that it will shine through.
