Troubleshooting Ramp Door Spring Not Opening Properly After Snapping Cable with Reinstall
Question:
had a cable come off. Got new cable on reattached and tightened spring. door opens about a 1 1/2 and stops??

Sounds like the torsion spring of your ramp door assist hasn't been wound properly and that's why the door isn't opening properly. This can be a dangerous endeavor so recommend you find someone with experience winding torsion springs and have them get everything set back up at the proper tension. Local garage door companies would be who to check with.
