Easiest Gooseneck Hitch To Fifth Wheel Trailer Adapter For 2012 Ford F-350
Question:
which adapter hitch do you recommend for my 2012 Ford F-350 pickup that I can use occasionally for my camper? I use this pickup a lot more for Stock Trailer use, and would like a simple conversion.

The easiest conversion from Gooseneck hitch to fifth wheel hitch is the Demco Recon part # DM8550046. It doesn't require you to remove the goose neck ball because it attaches to it and gives you a 5th wheel hitch in the bed. However, the Recon works best for long beds because it does not provide a lot of turning clearance in short beds.
If you do have have a short bed truck, I recommend Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter w/ 8" Offset part # AM3139. The adapter has a 8" offset and connects to the gooseneck ball. The other side bolts the trailer king pin. This is the easiest option if your Ford is a short bed truck. Just keep in mind this adapter is made for pin box up to 24" long measured diagonally. Measure from the center line of the bottom of the king pin into the back of the pin box as far as you can reach or to where the pin box disappears into the trailer. I have attached a diagram for your reference.
