Troubleshooting Weak Trailer Brakes
Question:
Just purchased this unit doesnt seem to put enough voltage out to really power the brakes. A new tandem axle 18foot flat bed trailer 4 brakes. Installed on an E-450 super duty v-10 coachman. I can feel the trailer brakes working a little, tried setting up according to manual but no go. Tried max power out put didnt help much. Tried all the boost settings didnt help much either. Scratching my head at the moment! Thank You,

Sounds like your trailer has self-adjusting brake assemblies that just have reached full adjustment yet. What you can do is apply the manual override lever of the controller several times while you are at parking lot speeds and eventually they will be the correct tension. Or if they are manual adjust brakes you would need to set them to correct tension.
You want to tighten them up so that they lightly drag when spun by hand.
Check out the video (see link). Beginning at the 4:23 mark, our installer shows how to adjust your trailer brakes.
The P3 part # 90195 is designed to be used on trailers with up to 3 brake axles so your tandem axle should be no problem at all for it.
