Troubleshooting Flashing Codes on Tekonsha Primus IQ When Installed on 2005 Porsche Cayenne
Question:
Hi, I just installed this unit on my 2005 Cayenne. Everything appears to work normally BUT 1 The controller displays erratic characters when the brake is not depressed and 2 All of the lights on the rear of the trailer flash faintly. Any suggestions for how to address this? Thanks!

If you check out the attached cut out from the installation instructions for the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 you can see that there are a number of things that could be going on if you are getting codes that are flashing on your display.
Typically with wiring troubleshooting the best places to start are your vehicle and trailer connectors as well as your grounds. Make sure everything is secure and clean to eliminate those parts as trouble spots. If you can let me know what code you are seeing just let me know and I can see if there are more specific steps you can take.
