Installing 5-Way Trailer Connector on 2000 Jeep Wrangler for Trailer Reverse Light
Question:
my vehicle- 2000 Jeep TJ. I recently bought a trailer, 1942 Jeep M416, that has flat 4 connector, and 4.5inch optronics LED lights. I bought from you a flat 4 kit for the Jeep, which has not yet been shipped. I have been considering changing the trailer taillights, to a version which would also had reverse lights. Im not a wiring expert, but figured there will need to be at least one more wire. So, Im now looking for a flat-5 kit for my Jeep? The kit that displays, shows its for a Toyota, and states this is not confirmed to fit your vehicle. What am I to do?

I have a solution that will allow you to install a 5-way on your 2000 Jeep Wrangler but since the 5-way style of trailer wiring is one of the least common setups there isn't a custom fit 5-way for your vehicle. You'd want to install the 4-way that you ordered and then convert it to a 5-way with a 5-way adapter like part # 20036.
Basically with this you'd just plug it straight into the 4-way and run the additional blue wire to the reverse light circuit of your vehicle and you'd be set. I attached an install video on a different vehicle for you to check out what the overall process is like.
