Wiring Options for Installing MaxxFan Deluxe 12V Roof Vent MA00-06200K
Question:
I will install the MA00-06200K on my truck topper. Can I connect power for the 12 volt fan from the dome light power supply in the truck topper or can I connect to the TAG topper fuse box with out blowing a fuse?

The MaxxFan Deluxe 12V Roof Vent # MA00-06200K will do a great job of moving air through your truck topper since it outputs a healthy 900-cubic-feet-per-minute (CFM) air flow. This vent should be able to cool effectively in your topper well below its maximum speed capacity which should mean quiet operation a long working lifespan.
Since this unit draws a maximum of 5-amps current you'll want to ensure you install it on either an existing lighting circuit that is rated for that much power or on a new wiring circuit that you install that has at least that capacity. It is not likely that a small topper dome light will draw 5-amps but chances are that one of the fuse circuits in your topper fuse box may be.
If the fuse box does not have the current capacity needed for the vent you can run your own new wiring from the battery, through a fuse holder like # SWC9545, and to the fan using wire # 10-2-1 and butt connectors # DW05745-5. You'll need to supply the 5-amp mini fuse since none is included with the holder.
