Can I Use My Older Thule Vertex XT Bike Rack With Curt Hitch On 2013 Honda Crosstour
Question:
I have 2013 Honda crosstour. And I install this trailer hitch which is 1 1/4 inch. Can I install Thule Vertex XT bike rack i believe its for 2 inch. If I can do I need to buy any extra parts. I am carrying 2 bikes, each of them are less than 30lb.

The Curt Hitch part # C11002 fits the 2013 Honda Crosstour and is a Class I hitch so the Vertex would need to be class I compatible for it to fit. Thule no longer produces the Vertex bike racks but there were a few different versions of the Vertex in production at one time. The Thule Vertex 2-bike rack part number 9028XT is compatible with your Class I hitch along with the 4 bike rack version which was part number 9029XT. However, if your Vertex is the swing-away version part # 9031XT it is not compatible with the Class I hitch on the Crosstour.
If you have the 4-bike swing-away version of the Vertex that only fits 2" hitches then you would need the EcoHitch # 306-X7299 which is a class 3 with a 2" opening. The weight of the Swing-Away Vertex is 42 lbs, but the EcoHitch has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity so you would be fine carrying your bikes.
