Yes, the P3 brake controller part # 90195 is an excellent brake controller for your 2004 Dodge Ram 3500. This is widely considered to be the best brake controller you can get so I recommend it highly for you. It uses an advanced inertia sensor that senses how hard you are applying the truck brakes and applies an equal and proportionate amount of braking with the trailer brakes. It is also very easy to install and use/setup.
To install the controller all you need is the install harness part # 3020-P which plugs in under your dash and you're set! I attached an install video that shows how a controller installs with this harness for you to check out as well.
