Will A Loose Fit With the Curt Echo Inside a Trailer Connector Cause Connection Issues
Question:
I bought Curt Brake Controller - C51180. I am towing a camper with a 2012 E-150. I have been having major issues with connecting and reconnecting with bluetooth. Is this common? It also seems to be a poor fit into the van...

The connection issues you are having with the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 is most likely caused by the loose fit you said you had inside the trailer connector. The factory trailer connectors do not always provide the best fit as the tolerances can vary greatly. Therefore, I recommend you replace the factory trailer connector with the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket part # HM40975 as this will have the tight fit that you need with the Curt Echo.
