Does Tekonsha Prodigy RF Pulse Trailer Brakes When Hazard Lights are Used
Question:
I’m being told by a local trailer company that if I use this brake controller it will cause the brakes to apply if I turn the flashers on due to it being an “RF version” Is this true? If so is there a way around it?

It is true that the (discontinued) Tekonsha Prodigy RF 90250 will activate your trailer brakes in a pulsing action if you were to turn the hazard lights on your 2007 Ford F-150. This is because the RF works both by inertia but also by receiving signals on both turn/stop circuits. I do have a solution for you but unfortunately there isn't a way to get by this.
Another solution for you is to use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 which is also a proportional brake controller. This simply plugs into the 7-Way on your pickup and then pairs to your Apple (8.0 or newer) or Android (4.4 and newer) smart device. This not only allows you to use the controller wirelessly but it also puts the controls on something already familiar to you via the Echo Smart Control app. Attached is a review video for you to check out.
