How to Determine Correct Hub and Drum Assembly for Trailer
Question:
I purchased: etrailer Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10inch Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2 I am replacing the 7 inch brakes with these 10 inch brakes and drums. The drum isnt seating properly and is very wobbly. Am I missing something? Are the bearings too big for the spindle? Thanks

The etrailer Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles - 10" Diameter - 5 on 4-1/2" # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K does have specific requirements for a fit on your spindle, as would any replacement hub and drum that you purchase.
Since I'm not sure what spindle you have, the easiest way to find the correct replacement hubs is to first know your hub's weight capacity and then know what bearings your previous hubs used and match them up; that was often done by taking apart your hub assembly and looking at the bearing numbers. The etrailer Hub and Drum # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K you bought uses inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649 which is what your previous hub would have had to have in order for this to be the correct replacement.
If you don't have your old hub assembly/bearings around, you need to use a digital caliper to measure your spindle to the thousandths of an inch where the bearings and grease seal ride. You can use the photo I've attached to see exactly where you need to measure. If you get back to me with this information, I'd be happy to try and help you find the correct hub.
I have also added a link to our selection of hub and drum assemblies for you.
