Brake Controller Wiring on a 2008 GMC Sierra
Question:
I just purchased a new 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with a trailer towing package. Im having trouble locating the four wires that are supposed to be provided for connecting the brake controller. Im told they should be found behind the dash amoung existing wiring. The color that GM uses for these wire connections would also be helpful. Thanks for any help.

There will be a bundle of wires above the electrical junction box underneath the dash. The bundle will have 5 wires, red, dark blue, light blue, white and orange. The orange wire will not be used. The wires should be connected as follows:
Truck - Controller
Red - Black
Dark Blue - Blue
Light Blue - Red
White - White
I have added links to a help page and a video showing a brake controller install on a 2008 GMC Sierra with the Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller.
