Locking Hitch Pin Needed for a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado with Extra Wide 2-1/2 inch Receiver

just bought a 2012 silverado 2500 hd i am looking for a receiver lock .my old receiver lock for my 2005 silverado is to short does master lock make a lock that i am looking for if not who and what model THANKS!!

The extra bracing on the sides of the receiver tube on the OEM hitch on your 2012 Silverado 2500 HD causes most standard hitch locks to be too short to work. We found this out early on and inquired with our hitch lock manufacturers about a locking hitch pin that would work and Deadbolt came through for us with the Extra Long Hitch Receiver Lock, # e98881, which has a 3-5/8 inch span.

I edited a photo showing the span measurement I took for you to see.

At this time this is the only locking hitch pin we have that is verified to work on the 2012 Silverado with 2-1/2 inch receiver tube. Master Lock has not come out with a wider span lock at this time.
