At this time there is not a trunk mounted bike rack that I can recommend for your 2006 Chevrolet Equinox because of the spoiler you mentioned.

My recommendation would be to install a trailer hitch and hitch mounted bike rack. This option has the advantage of allowing you to access the rear of the vehicle without removing the bike rack each time, and you can carry a cargo carrier or tow as your needs may change in the future, so a hitch makes your vehicle more versatile.

The best selling hitch we have for the 2006 Chevrolet Equinox is the Curt custom fit Class III receiver hitch, # 13591, which gets great reviews by our customers, and would allow you to select just about any bike rack that is compatible with a 2 inch receiver hitch.

For a bike rack, I like the platform style racks, because they are super easy to install and secure the bikes on and they are available from very cost effective to high-end, wherever you feel comfortable, see link.

For a cost effective model, I would select the Swagman XC 2 bike rack, # S64650. One of my friends has had this model for a couple of years now and he uses it a lot. He recently told me that he was glad I recommended this rack because it has performed flawlessly since he purchased it. Another nice feature of this rack is that it folds compact for storage or carrying in the back of the vehicle when not in use.

For a high-end model, you cannot get any better than the Kuat NV 2.0 Aluminum bike rack, # NV22G. This rack is a high quality rack designed for carrying any bike up to the best carbon framed road bikes and has high quality construction and finish.
