Tekonsha Brake Controller Wiring Adapters for 2016 GMC Sierra and 2017 GMC Acadia

Question:

I Purchased this Brake controller with the plug and play wire harness and the head of the plug for under the dash is too large. The number they recommended was part #3026. Is there a difference between the 3026 and the 3026P? Also, Will be part number still work with a 2017 Acadia Denali ? It has the factory tow package with the seven pin.

Brake controller wiring adapters that plug in under the dash can have different vehicle-side plugs depending on the generation and model of vehicle. For a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 part # 3016 is correct. For a 2017 GMC Acadia that has a factory 7-way the wiring adapter to use is part # 3026-P.
