Do Wheel Trays on Swagman Chinook Platform Bike Carrier S64683 Lock in Place

Do these need to be locked to secure the bike other than theft of course?

The wheel trays on the Swagman Chinook Platform Bike Carrier # S64683 have a knob that allows you to adjust their position on the steel rail for various bike lengths but they do not include a provision for locking to the rack nor for locking the bike tire to the tray.
