4 Bike Rack Recommendation for 2018 Dodge Durango to Carry Adult and Kid Bikes
Question:
I am looking for a bike rack for my 2018 Dodge Durango with a hitch. I need a 4 bike capacity for 2 adult bikes and 2 kid bikes 18” and 12” wheels both with training wheels that are easily removed if need be. I had a SportRack EZ hitch 2 bike rack that I was using before kids, and liked that, but we’ve outgrown it. I was looking at the Lets Go Aero BikeWing and the SportRack Ridge Swing 4 but am open to other options. We have a travel trailer that doesn’t have a hitch...yet so the BikeWing is appealing for that reason, but being interchangeable is not a necessity. Being able to get into the trunk with bikes attached is appealing but also is not a necessity. I’m also trying to limit my footprint somewhat, and was looking at the platform style racks like the EZ hitch, but they seem so long! Anyway, what racks work best with adult and kids bikes, potentially with training wheels? I would also like to keep my need for accessories to a minimum. Thanks so much!

For your application a platform rack is going to be best since you have adult bikes and kids bikes with possible training wheels. A hanging rack is already difficult to load kid's bike on but when you add in training wheels it gets even more difficult to do without interference.
I would recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 4 bike rack part # HR1400Z as it's a very sturdy and stable 4-bike platform bike rack that will work really well. The bikes are held far enough apart there wouldn't be training wheel interference, the wheel slots can slide anywhere on the crossbeam to accommodate small bike frames as well and the rack can accommodate all bike frame styles too without an adapter due to how the rack grabs the bikes.
I attached a review video for this bike rack for you to check out as well.
