Troubleshooting Intermittent Brake Controller Connection with Short Message
Question:
Sometimes i got breaks but sometimes no, the will come and go. Especially when i press the break pedal than i have no break. Break controller will shot a message sayin break input shortage . I check the cables Im not sure whats going on. I got a trailer Koufman Ez4

Most likely the problem is corrosion in your trailer connector. Dirty pins in a connector are notorious for causing intermittent circuit function which is exactly what is going on with your setup. Corrosion can also cause shorts too.
Aside from that it could be a loose wire on the brake output circuit somewhere, but it sounds like you already checked that.
