Accessing the brake controller install port on your 2018 Dodge Durango isn't too difficult. It's behind the interior panel that's to the left of the emergency brake pedal. I attached a picture that shows this, but we have an even easier solution that doesn't require accessing that nor does it require mounting a brake controller to the dash panel of your vehicle as well.
So the easiest to install brake controller that also works really well is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180. Basically this just plugs into an active 7-way (like what you have on your Durango) and once you sync it to your phone it's ready to go. This brake controller is proportional which means it senses the amount of deceleration your tow vehicle is applying and applies the trailer brakes in a relative way. If you are looking for a super easy to install controller that doesn't require modifying the interior of your vehicle and also works really well this is the way to go.
