Comparing a 205/75D15 and 205/75R15 Trailer Tire
Question:
Between 205 75 R 15 and 205 75 D 15 what is the difference between the R and the D which is best ?

The D in 205/75D15 represents that the tire has a bias ply construction whereas the R in 205/75R15 represents that the tire has a radial ply construction. The difference between a bias and radial ply is in regard to the directions of the cords. In short, a radial ply tire will run cooler than a bias ply tire which makes it better for highway use. If you would be using the trailer off-road, then you would then go with the bias ply.
For a radial ply option, I recommend the Provider ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire part # TR20515D which has a load range d rating (2,150 lbs) and for a bias ply option I recommend the Taskmaster ST205/75D15 Bias Trailer Tire part # TTWSF20515C which has a load range d rating (1,820 lbs). They both have an 81 mpg speed rating and come with a two-year warranty.

Very good explanation of R vs D. I'm just trying to get it off the ground and save the tires for storage?
