Can iRV Double Din Stereo # IRV34 be Used to Replace Concertone RV2003

Question:

Currently have a Concertone RV 2003 whose face plate with most of the controls has been demolished by my slide. I would like to replace it with the IRV 34. I can easily make it fit but in trying to match up the speaker wiring the old RV2003 wiring has 2 set of wires greenandgreen/black and whiteandwhite/black for what appears to be 2 sub woofers. When I took my sub woofer down from the RV ceiling it appears to be 1 speaker in a heavy black box but does indeed have 2 sets of wires going into it both heavy blackandblack/white wires. The concertone unit was 100 amp-whatever that means and the IRV34 appears to be 50 amp. Can I safely use the IRV 34 as a replacement and if so would it be best to just not hook up the sub woofer to avoid damaging the unit? Concertone recommends replacement with a Genesis GT3.0 which isnt available, and, is way more than I want to spend $700 even if it was available. Thanks

I would not recommend powering a subwoofer with the # IRV34. This can basically cover everything else and can provide signal for the sub but doesn't not have the amperage for any type of sub. Best option is to find out the amperage requirements for the sub and go with an amp too when installing the # IRV34. For the time being you could leave the sub unhooked. If the sub is in a box though it may have a powered amp attached which you'd have to check to verify.

It's very easy to damage a speaker by running too low of amperage too it so it's better to be safe and wait till you have an amp rated for it.
