The latch pin on the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitches, like part # BWGNRK1111, are spring loaded so you don't have to force it back into place. You can verify that it is in place by installing the gooseneck ball in the receiver, releasing the pin, and then checking to make sure the gooseneck ball can't be removed by pulling upwards on it.
