Troubleshooting Switch of Fan-Tastic Roof Vent 4000R

Question:

Hello, I have a 2004 Trillium Outback that has a FanTastic Fan 4000r installed. A couple of days ago I tested the fan for the first time this season and it worked normally, then a few minutes later, it was dead. I tested the plunger switch to make sure that wasnt stuck or corroded and it seems fine. I also removed the screen and manually spun the blades to make sure they werent block. Im wondering if I should order a replacement 3-speed switch or do some other troubleshooting steps first. What do you suggest? Thanks!

Most likely it is the switch of your Fan-Tastic roof vent like what the part # FVK1031-05 is designed to replace but you can try removing the two wires from your old switch and touching them together to test to see if it is the switch. If the fan motor runs when you do this the switch is the problem. Most likely the diode that is on the back of the switch is bad.
