Hidden Brake Controller Recommendation for 2016 Ford Transit T350
Question:
Good Afternoon, I have 2016 Ford Transit 350 SRW that I am putting a brake controller on. I am considering the Curt Spectrum vs the Tekonsha Pridigy P2 that my mechanic has recommended. Are there any functional differences between them? I understand the spectrum is a newer product and does not have the review history the spectrum does. If I go with the prodigy and then decide to switch to the Spectrum will that be and easy change, are the pigtails and connectors different for the curt and tekonsha? Thank you

I would strongly recommend the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 over the Curt Spectrum part # C51170 if those are the two options you are considering since the Prodigy controllers have over the years consistently been much more reliable long-term than Curt. Now if you want a sleeker designed controller like the Spectrum but is also as reliable as the Prodigy I would recommend the Redarc TowPro Elite part # RED44FR. This gives you a similar style of proportional brake controller that only requires mounting a small dial on the dash of the vehicle.
I attached a picture of what the dial looks like as well as a review video for this controller for you to check out as well.
The wiring of the Redarc could easily be cut and have the Spectrum wired in it's place by wiring the connections color for color if needed. This would also be true for the Prodigy.
