No Green Light on Tekonsha Envoy Brake Controller with Trailer Connected

Question:

Hello, I have a 2000 Ford F250 lariat with a Tekonsha Envoy Brake Control that is not lighting up when connected to the trailer. All lights to the trailer work properly. Everything is grounded. Brand-new self adjusting E breaks bought from each trailer. Those are connected properly as well. Im trying to get the brake control to light up. I used to see the little green light lit up, but I never knew how to adjust it. I watched your tutorial today, but I cant do anything until I see if its lit up. I dont know if a fuse is bad, or what? Ive seen the instructions you gave about checking the red wire for power. Im just wondering if you know where the fuse is for the brake control on this particular truck

If you don't have a green light on your Tekonsha Envoy Brake Controller when a trailer is connected then you have an issue with the brake controller's power/ground circuit. This is explained on page 3 of your owner's manual.

The first thing you will want to do is take a circuit tester and probe the black wire going into the back of the brake controller while the vehicle is running. If you don't see power here then you will want to hardwire both the black power and white ground wire directly to the battery. If still no green light then the unit is defective and will need to be replaced for which I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller part # 39510.

Most brake controllers don't use a fuse but rather a circuit breaker however, this will be located where the installer put it as this is an aftermarket unit therefore I don't have a spot for you to check.
