The battery in the AirBedz XUV Air Mattress # 341030 is a NiMH type (nickel metal hydride) and AirBedz recommends charging it every 3 months whether or not the mattress will be used. This periodic charging is necessary to keep the battery in good shape. The air pump will usually provide 5 complete inflate/deflate cycles on a single full charge.
