Question:

Hi. Thanks for the information. Question. 1. Why the rola rack can't be separated more than 27 1/2 inches? 2. What rack can I use in my accord 09 sedan if I have the yakima fork chops. Thanks

Yes! Out of the variety of fairings that we have to offer I recommend the 40" long Inno Fairing # INA261 because it will fit perfectly with the 38" long Rola Sport Series Roof Rack # 59757 for your 2009 Honda Accord.

If you let me know what you are wanting to use the roof rack for I can make additional recommendations for you. I have also attached an installation video and a picture of this roof rack on a 2009 Accord Sedan that you can reference.

For the Yakima ForkChop (discontinued) to fit with a roof rack system the center of the crossbars must be spaced 32" - 50" apart from each other. Since your Rola Sport Series Roof Rack 59757 is spaced 27-1/2" apart on center I recommend using the Yakima ForkLift # Y02098 instead. The ForkLift is the next step up from the ForkChop and it is compatible with crossbar spreads between 16" - 42" which your Rola roof rack falls into. If you'd like to add a lock to this bike rack then you can use part # Y07202 to add an SKS lock core to the rack. I have attached a review video of the ForkLift for you to check out.

That is just where Rola has tested and approved the use of their roof rack system. This can be due to the crossbars sitting at an angle when further apart, weight capacity restrictions, or even just room for their specific roof rack. Almost all of the roof rack options for your 2009 Honda Accord have that same 27-1/2" crossbar spread. The only exceptions are the Yakima roof rack systems. To use a Yakima roof rack on your Accord you need the BaseLine Towers # Y28TR and the BaseClip Fit Kit # Y06148 and # Y06150. Then it is simply a matter of choosing the desired crossbars style. I will list them below according to their pricing/quality of crossbar: Round CrossBars - # Y00409 (with Adapter # Y03536) CoreBar Crossbars - # Y00422 JetStream Crossbars - # Y00426 (Black) HD Crossbars - # Y01157 (with Adapter # Y03541) All of these systems have a crossbar spread of 32" and a weight capacity of 165 lbs. Please note that the wheelbase of your bike needs to be within 10" of the crossbar spread for you to be able to use the ForkChop # Y02117 bike rack.
