What is Torque Value for Installing 10 inch Dexter Brake Assemblies on Trailer

Question:

What is the torque value for the nuts that attach the backing plate? On my Lance trailer, I cant get a torque wrench on one of the nuts, so I plan on using a lock washer and then tightening it as tight as I can with an end wrench. Do I need to add lock washers to the other 3 nuts too?

Helpful Expert Reply:

I called my contact at Dexter about the 10 inch Nev-R-Adjust brakes like part # 23-468-469.

They told me when you are installing the brake assemblies to the brake mounting flange, the torque should be between 45 and 50 ft lbs.
