Is Welding Required for the Handle on the Cam-Action Lockable Door Latch Kits
Question:
i have a 4 horse aluminum trailer with a tack room. the existing pole on the back gate locking mechanism has rusted thru and id like to replace the entire system. my pole has a tab welded onto it to attach the handle. Is there another way of attaching the new handle without having to have something welded on?

I do have an option for you but the handles included with the Cam-Action Lockable Door Latch Kits like part # PLR658-SSP must be welded to the pole as there are no other options to attach them. If you can get away with a 55" long pipe then you can use the 55" Lock Side-Door Bar Lock Assembly part # 3057-55 which is already welded for you but best option would be to obtain the above and just run by a local muffler shop and have them tack the new handle on as I am sure they would not change much, if at all to do this for you.
