Replacement Tire and Wheel for a TeeNee Trailer with 4.80/4.00-8 Tires

Question:

I have an antique TeeNee trailer from the 50s that is in great shape is going to be making a longer trip. Looking at tire and wheel assemblies, I only see 4-bolt options listed with 2.5 pilot holes. The previous owner is insisting that the current wheels have 2.75 pilot holes. These are 4.80-8 tires with a 4-bolt pattern. I am trying to avoid replacing the entire hub assembly, etc. Please advise on any options.

Are the wheels on your TeeNee Trailer hub piloted or lug piloted? If they are lug piloted then you would only need to make sure the size of the pilot hole on the wheel exceeds that of your trailer hub. It does not need to match this or the wheel you have now. Therefore, the Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM30000 with a 2.5" pilot hole should work for you but if not we have the Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel part # AM30010 which has a 2.8" pilot hole.

If you have a hub piloted wheel please just let me know.
