Will the Rhino-Rack J-Style and Rhino-Rack Nautic Both Fit on a 49 Inch Long Vortex Aero Crossbar
Question:
is there is any reason why I cant use the RR571 pads for one Kayak and S512x for for the other kayak in the top of my Passat 2017? I cant find any definitive answer on the total weight capacity but it seems to be 100 kilos.

For starters, the Expansion Arm for Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier part # RRS512X that you referenced is just an expansion arm for the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier part # S512. With that being said, you might be able to fit both the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier part # S512 with the Rhino-Rack Nautic Roof Kayak Carrier part # RR571 but that would depend on the width of your kayaks. If you did want to go this route then you would most likely want to use a longer crossbar, the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars part # RRVA137B-2.
If you don't want to install longer crossbars then two of the Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier part # S512 would be your best option. The j-style is actually often easier to load the kayaks onto than the saddles.
